In MealPrepPro most of our nutritional data comes from Nutritics. This is a recommended by dieticians and nutritionists as a reliable source of nutritional information. Where Nutritics doesn't have information for a certain item, we also source data from USDA and manufacturers labels where necessary.
So you might be thinking... "but hold on I put this in MyFitnessPal or another app and I'm getting different values - what gives"?
That can be for a number of reasons:
  1. MealPrepPro calculates calories and macros based on weight, not on cups, items or spoons which is less accurate.
  2. The food database in apps such as MyFitnessPal is crowd sourced and can be inaccurate.
  3. Depending on your location, the grocery store you shop at and the brand of products you buy, the nutritional values may be different.

We work with certified dieticians to ensure our nutrition database is accurate.
